Why Merced?
When you can’t afford food or medicine because most of your income goes to put a roof over your head.
When the roof gives way because you must choose between food and health care or home repairs.
When you are raising children and can’t quite make the ends meet, or you live alone and feel isolated.
These are the reasons Merced exists. All across the state, men, women and children are seeking support for basic needs — access to food, child care, wellness and a sense of community.
Few, if any, organizations provide no-cost home repairs or service-enriched affordable housing like we do. The calls for help are frequent. Our waiting lists are long.
