Interior Features

Efficiency, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes are available, which include: frost free refrigerators (some units), disposals, dishwashers, modern kitchens with wood cabinets, separate dining room (some units), mini-blinds, large walk-in closets, breakfast bars and cable ready.

Community Features

Avion Place offers a beautifully landscaped setting with gated access, huge resort style pool, Jacuzzi, lighted tennis courts, sports court, sand volleyball court, basketball court, covered barbeque and picnic areas with built in tables and barbecue pits, fitness center, extra large clean laundry facility and uncovered/covered parking. Near future features will include a Resident Learning Center with computers and children’s playground with brand new playground equipment. Ten fully handicapped accessible apartment homes are available.

Resident Services

A full time Resident Services Coordinator is available to residents and facilitates resident activities such as after school and adult education programs, Life Skills programs to include Parenting, Anger Management, Financial Literacy, Housekeeping and Health. Programs for children include a Summer Lunch Program, Kids Book Club, Kids Arts and Crafts, Movies and games, and a new Girl Scout troop. Various resident recreation functions are also provided throughout the year to include Resident barbecues, General Meetings, monthly Bingo games, and National Night Out.

Affordability

40% of the units (191) are dedicated for occupancy by individuals and families with incomes at or below 60% of the Area Median Family Income (AMFI). 60% of the area median income for a family of four is $32,820.

Financing

The Bexar County Housing Finance Corporation issued Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds. Allstate Insurance provided financing in the amount of $12,910,000. Private investors provided the additional financing. The City of San Antonio has awarded approximately $446,000 in rental rehabilitation funds to make extensive repairs to Avion Place, including replacing roofs throughout the complex and making ADA accommodations.

Avion Place Apartments is owned by Merced-Suncrest, LLC, a Texas single member LLC, with Merced Housing Texas as its sole member.
